Olive Tree

Olive Tree - The olive tree is a fascinating ancient tree with a unique charm. It's a tree of no waste: its bitter fruits transform into wonderful oils that grace every esteemed kitchen. Its fruit pits are used for enriching soil, while its branches and trunks have served various purposes throughout history, from extraction to providing shade. The olive tree is one of the oldest trees known! There are living specimens that still bear beautiful fruits, some dating back over 2000 years! Primarily found in the Mediterranean region, its roots trace back to ancient Mesopotamia. Evidence suggests that olives have been cultivated there for over 5000 years. Among the various olive varieties, the "Syrian olive" stands out. It was introduced to Europe by Phoenician traders who transported it through Egypt, across the Mediterranean from Morocco. This special variety, renowned for its countless remarkable properties, remains a primary choice for various creations.
